Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This is the Privacy Policy of 4B Plus and its related companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates — including Happy Buddha LLC (collectively referred to as 4B Plus, we, our, and us). It sets out how we seek to manage Personal Information across all of our operations and brands.
The privacy of your Personal Information is important to us. We are committed to handling it responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable privacy laws in the jurisdictions in which we operate, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Australia) and applicable US state and federal privacy laws.
2. What Is Personal Information?
In this Privacy Policy, Personal Information means any information or opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether or not the information is true and whether or not it is recorded in a material form.
3. What Personal Information Do We Collect and Hold?
We may collect Personal Information from you that is necessary to support one or more of our functions or activities. Depending on your dealings with us, this may include (but is not limited to):
- your contact details, including name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- your social media profile details when you interact with our brand accounts;
- if you apply for a job with us or provide services (as an employee or contractor): name, address, email, qualifications, employment history, salary expectations, bank details, referee reports, and background check information;
- if you make a purchase directly from us: payment details (such as credit card number, card type, and expiry date), purchasing history, preferences, and other profile information;
- IP address, device identifiers, and information about how you use our websites, including browsing behaviour, navigation patterns, and demographic data collected in aggregate; and
- information you share when entering competitions, promotions, or giveaways we run (for example, through Happy Buddha®’s Journey of Kindness Giveaway or similar campaigns).
4. Consent
We will only collect, use, or disclose your Personal Information where we have a lawful basis for doing so. Where we rely on consent, that consent will be:
- Express — we will ask for your consent clearly and specifically, not assume it from your general use of our services;
- Granular — separate consent will be sought for distinct purposes where required (for example, marketing communications will require a separate opt-in from transactional communications);
- Informed — you will be told what you are consenting to before giving consent; and
- Withdrawable — you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details in section 14 below, without penalty.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to withdrawal. Where we collect Personal Information from you without relying on consent (for example, where collection is required by law or is necessary to perform a contract with you), we will notify you of that basis at or before the time of collection.
5. How Do We Collect Your Personal Information?
The most common ways we collect your Personal Information include:
- directly from you when you provide it to us (e.g., when placing an order, contacting us, or signing up online);
- when you subscribe to receive news updates or promotional communications from us, with your express consent;
- when you interact with our social media accounts or websites (including www.happybuddha.llc and any 4B Plus brand pages);

6. Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information
We may use your Personal Information:
- for the purposes for which we collected it, and for related purposes you would reasonably expect;
- for other purposes to which you have expressly consented; and
- as otherwise authorised or required by law.
Specific purposes for which we collect and use Personal Information include:
- adding you to our mailing list (at your request and with your consent) and sending you information we consider may be of interest to you;
- processing and fulfilling your orders for our products, including Happy Buddha® Premium Jasmine Rice, Restaurant-Grade Fry-Rice, and Luxury Edition ST25 Fragrant Rice;

7. Direct Marketing
We will only send you direct marketing communications where you have given us express consent to do so, or where we are otherwise permitted to do so under applicable law. Where we rely on consent for marketing, we will maintain a record of that consent.
We may contact you about our products, services, promotions, and competitions — including those run by Happy Buddha® and other 4B Plus brands — via mail, email, phone, SMS, or digital channels including our websites, social media, and third-party platforms.
You may withdraw your consent and opt out of direct marketing communications at any time by:
- emailing us at hello@happybuddha.llc;
- calling us on 1800 427 587; or
- following the unsubscribe instructions in any direct marketing communication you receive from us (e.g. using the ‘unsubscribe’ link in an email).
We will action your opt-out request promptly and within any timeframe required by applicable law. Opting out of marketing will not affect your ability to receive transactional or service-related communications.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties in connection with the purposes described in section 6 above. This may include:
- our service providers, including accountants, auditors, insurers, legal advisers, marketing and promotions agencies, logistics and shipping providers, website and data hosting providers, and other IT suppliers;
- companies that may use your information to tailor digital advertising to you on websites or social media platforms in relation to our products and services;
- any third parties to whom you have directed or permitted us to disclose your information (e.g. referees);
- in the event that 4B Plus or its assets may be acquired or considered for acquisition by a third party, that party and its advisors;
- our related companies and affiliates, including Happy Buddha LLC;
- third parties that require the information for law enforcement, regulatory compliance, or to prevent a serious threat to public safety; and
- others as permitted or required by applicable law.
Before engaging third-party service providers who handle Personal Information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that they have appropriate privacy and data security practices in place. Where required by law or good practice, we enter into data processing agreements or equivalent contractual arrangements with such providers to ensure they handle your information appropriately and consistently with this Privacy Policy.
9. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Some of our service providers and operational partners may be located outside of Australia or the United States. In particular, as Happy Buddha® Premium Jasmine Rice is sourced from Vietnam, some of our supply chain and operational partners are located in Vietnam.
Where we transfer Personal Information to recipients overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle your information with protections that are at least equivalent to the protections required under applicable Australian and US privacy law. These steps may include:
- entering into contractual arrangements requiring overseas recipients to comply with applicable privacy standards;

- only transferring information to countries or organisations that provide an adequate level of data protection.
By providing your Personal Information to us, you acknowledge that it may be transferred to, stored, or processed in countries outside your country of residence, including Vietnam and the United States.
10. Security
We take the security of your Personal Information seriously and implement a range of technical, physical, and organisational safeguards to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These safeguards include:
- encryption of data in transit and at rest where appropriate;
- restricted access controls, ensuring that only authorised personnel can access Personal Information on a need-to-know basis;
- secure storage systems and infrastructure maintained by reputable providers;
- regular staff training on privacy obligations and data handling best practices; and
- ongoing monitoring and review of our security practices.
No data transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or from our websites.
11. Data Retention
We will only retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When determining how long to retain Personal Information, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the purposes for which it is held, and any applicable legal retention obligations.
When Personal Information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy, or permanently de-identify it in a manner that protects your privacy.
12. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach involving your Personal Information, we will respond promptly in accordance with our legal obligations. - notify affected individuals and relevant regulators within the timeframes prescribed by law; and
- provide affected individuals with information about the breach and recommended steps they can take to protect themselves.
We maintain an internal data breach response plan to ensure a coordinated and timely response to any incident.
13. Your Rights

- Access — the right to request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you;

Please note that some rights may be subject to limitations or exceptions under applicable law (for example, we may be required to retain certain records for legal or compliance purposes notwithstanding a deletion request).

Scam & Fraud Policy
1. Purpose
4B Plus and its associated brand Happy Buddha® are committed to protecting our customers, employees, suppliers, and business partners from scams, fraud, and deceptive conduct. This policy sets out our approach to preventing, detecting, and responding to fraudulent activity — and importantly, helps you identify and avoid scams that may impersonate our brands.
This policy applies to all operations of 4B Plus and Happy Buddha LLC, including all digital platforms, sales channels, promotional campaigns, and customer communications.
⚠ IMPORTANT — Please Read Before You Proceed
4B Plus and Happy Buddha® will NEVER ask you to send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or personal banking details via unsolicited email, SMS, social media, or phone call. We will NEVER ask you to pay an upfront fee to claim a prize, competition win, or giveaway. If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from us, do not respond — contact us directly at hello@happybuddha.llc or call 1800 427 587.

Scam and fraud activity includes any deceptive, dishonest, or manipulative conduct intended to gain an unfair or unlawful advantage — financially or otherwise. In the context of 4B Plus and Happy Buddha®, this includes but is not limited to:
- Impersonation scams — individuals or organisations falsely claiming to represent 4B Plus or Happy Buddha® to deceive customers or suppliers;
- Fake competitions or giveaways — fraudulent messages claiming you have won a prize from Happy Buddha® and asking for personal or payment details to claim it;
- Phishing — deceptive emails, SMS messages, or websites that mimic our official communications to steal personal or financial information;
- Invoice fraud — falsified or redirected payment requests targeting our suppliers or business partners;
- Counterfeit products — the manufacture, distribution, or sale of goods falsely bearing the 4B Plus or Happy Buddha® brand, name, or trademarks;
- Unauthorised distributors — entities claiming to be authorised stockists or distributors of our products without our approval;
- Employee or internal fraud — theft, misappropriation of assets, falsification of records, or conflicts of interest by any person acting on behalf of 4B Plus; and
- Cyber fraud — unauthorised access to our systems, data, or accounts for financial gain or disruption.

We want to make it easy for you to know when you are genuinely dealing with us. Our official channels are:
✅ Our Official Channels

You should be cautious if a message, website, or individual:
- uses an email address that does not end in @happybuddha.llc or an official 4B Plus domain;
- asks you to pay a fee or provide banking details to claim a giveaway prize;
- asks you to keep a communication confidential or act urgently without time to verify;
- offers products at prices that seem too good to be true;
- directs you to a website address that is slightly different from www.happybuddha.llc (e.g. happybuddha.com, happy-buddha.llc, happybuddharice.com); or
- contacts you out of the blue claiming you have won a competition you did not enter.
When in doubt, contact us directly using the official details above before taking any action.
4. Our Legitimate Promotions and Giveaways
4B Plus and Happy Buddha® do from time to time run genuine competitions, giveaways, and promotional campaigns — such as the Journey of Kindness Giveaway. Our legitimate promotions will always:
- be announced through our official website (www.happybuddha.llc) and verified social media accounts;
- never require you to pay any fee, purchase additional products, or provide banking details in order to enter or claim a prize;
- clearly state the full terms and conditions of the promotion; and
- contact winners through official channels only, with verifiable contact details.
If you are unsure whether a promotion is genuine, please contact us before providing any personal information.
5. Our Commitments to Fraud Prevention
4B Plus is committed to maintaining robust internal controls to prevent fraud within our own operations. This includes:

If you have already suffered a financial loss as a result of a scam involving our brand, we strongly encourage you to report the matter to your local police and contact your bank or financial institution immediately.
7. Limitation of Liability for Third-Party Fraud
4B Plus takes the impersonation of our brands extremely seriously and actively monitors for such activity. However, where a scam, fraud, or deceptive scheme is perpetrated by an independent third party without our knowledge or involvement — including impersonation of our brands, personnel, or communications — 4B Plus will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result.
We strongly encourage all customers, suppliers, and members of the public to:
- verify the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from 4B Plus or Happy Buddha® using our official contact details before acting on it;
- never transfer money or provide personal information based solely on an unsolicited message; and
- report suspected impersonation to us immediately so we can take action.
This limitation does not apply where 4B Plus has been negligent or has contributed to the fraud or scam in question.
